Don’t forget to use your $10.00 off $50.00 Safeway coupon which was in the Food Day Section of Tuesday’s Oregonian. It’s usually in the Longview Daily as well and can be picked up at Longview Daily News if you didn’t buy one on Tuesday. My plan is to buy what I need and stock up on boneless skinless chicken breasts to reach the $50.00 total. We’re picky and don’t like the prefrozen chicken breast which you can usually get on sale for $1.79 a pound. I like to buy the fresh chicken breasts and then divide them into smaller quantities and freeze them with our food saver. Our stock price for chicken breasts is $1.99 a pound and it only comes around every couple of months.
Keep in my our Safeway’s only accept 4 safeway double coupons per transaction.

I won’t be buying an Oregonian tomorrow because there won’t be any coupon inserts in it. It will be a good weekend to sort out the expired coupons and reorganize which I’ve been needing to do for quite some time!!!

Make sure you look in the food section of today’s (Tuesday 9/1) Oregonian, and possibly The Daily News for a $10 off $50 Safeway coupon plus some super coupons. I almost missed it but thanks to Saving for My Family I didn’t. It’s usually always in the 1st Tuesday of every month plus some other random times. It doesn’t expire until 9/8!! Also if you need Honey Nut Cheerios, they’re not on sale at Safeway but you can print a $.55 internet printable coupon at Coupons.com or to the right, the blue ad in my side bar and you can add a $1.00 e-coupon and a $.50 e-coupon at Cellfire.com and Shortcuts.com, one of these expires in 6 days so to get both of them you have to use them in the next 6 days.

We made a revision to our dinner menu tonight because we had so many ripe cherry tomatoes. So I made one of our favorites, Tomato Basil. I’m so excited that I could eat it because with my last pregnancy I couldn’t stand the smell of garlic.
Tomato Basil
Cherry Tomatoes a big bowl sliced in half
Basil a handful chopped
Olive Oil a drizzle about 1 TBSP
Garlic clove, 1 minced
Balsami Vinegar several drizzles
Cottage Cheese, 1 quart
Warm a skillet on medium, drizzle olive oil and let it get hot. Add minced garlic and let it brown, then add the sliced cherry tomatoes. Let the tomatoes warm, add the basil, and then add several drizzles of balsami vineger. Serve over cottage cheese with a slice of cheese bread.

You may or may not have noticed a lack of deal posts lately. I have a pretty good excuse for it. We’re expecting a baby and although we are very excited, I have been feeling miserable. I have some great friends who have given me all kinds of remedies for morning sickness and I am very grateful. I have taken crystalized ginger, put peppermint oil behind my ears (this works for morningsickness and headaches!!), drank many blue raspeberry icees to the point where we have nicknamed this baby “blueberry”, and the doctor thought it was weird when my tongue was blue. She shouldn’t complain, at least I’m hydrated!! I have also learned the enteric coated peppermint capsules helps irritable bowel syndrome, I wish I would have figured that one out 20 years ago. I’m not as nauseated now, I’m just having a ton of low back pain and sciatica. I feel like a big whiner!!!
Anyway if you’re having morning sickness, or you know someone who has morning sickness, I would like to share this recipe: sweet and sour ginger chicken which is another thing that helped my nausea when it was bad.
I’m hoping that in a week or two, I’ll be feeling good again and off running to get some good deals and share them with you. I’ll especially be looking for some good diaper deals. I’m so thankful that I’m not having to work outside the home this time and can take a nap with my son in the afternoon.
If you have any other remedies for morning sickness, please leave a comment.
