Walgreens Lessons Learned
Sometimes I get really frustrated with Walgreens hidden rules and untrained cashiers. But then when I buy over $40 of stuff we use for $2.05 I realize I might just have to put up with it. I don’t blame the cashier for not understanding the rules, it is very complicated!!!
Here are some rules that might help get you through a Walgreens transaction with less headaches.
1. Always have at least as many items as you have coupons. Register Rewards counts as a coupon.Buy some cheap item like a piece of candy if you need to get your item number up.
2. Don’t use a Register Reward on the same product that you want a Register Reward to print for. The register is programed to not print a Register Reward if you are using a Register Reward to pay for the same product. It’s ok to use a different register reward on a different product that you want a Register Reward for.For example today I bought Chapstick and received a Register Reward for the chapstick. I can buy more Chapstick with the Register Reward but it won’t print another Register Reward. I could buy Edge Shave Gel with the Chapstick Register Reward and it will still print the Register Reward for the Edge Shave Gel. And then I could buy the chapstick with the Edge Shave Gel Register Reward.
3. You can buy several different products that have register rewards in one transaction but don’t buy multiples of the same product. You will only get one Register Reward for a product in one transacation.It’s not a bad idea to buy products with Register Rewards in multiple transacations, so that you can buy a different product using a Register Reward from another products Register Rewards. This is how you roll it without coming up empty handed without a Register Reward.
4. Your total can not go below zero and you can’t pay tax with a register reward. 5. Don’t rush out on Sunday the first day of their sale to try and buy the free items. They usually always run out the first day, receive a new shipment on Tuesday and by Thursday they have the shelves restocked.Please leave a comment and ask a question if this doesn’t make since.
